Hello! Congratulations on taking the time to investigate your options for pregnancy, labour and postnatal support. Tailored continuity of care, is what I love about my job because it means I know I am offering the love and care that will best fit the woman I am working with and her family. No cookie-cutter approach here. As your doula, my aim is to support your family so that you have the guidance and find the tools that best support your vision for pregnancy, labour, birth and early parenthood.

A mother of two beautiful girls, I now support families as an Antenatal, Birth and Postpartum Doula on the North Shore and Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia.

Although I have supported plenty of births where I have only had the opportunity to know the parents later in pregnancy, I really value getting to know you as early in pregnancy as possible as this gives me an opportunity to really offer you options, ideas and approaches you perhaps do not yet know of. This then gives you the opportunity to reflect and understand your social beliefs around birth and parenting and explore options to help you approach your journey to parenthood feeling supported and well resourced.

Key elements of this service include: 3 x 2-2.5hr Antenatal visits with you and your partner in your home + On-call for your birth from 38 weeks + Labour support in your home and place of birth + 3 Postnatal visits up to six weeks postpartum + Text and phone support for 6 weeks postpartum However, I always want my service to remain flexible to client needs and so please see this as a guide to which variations can be explored ************************************************************************************************************ Emotional and physical support for you and your family is key to any doula role. Understanding your specific needs, values, existing support and intended approach to labour and parenting will inform our approach as a team in preparing for your labour. I will honour the choices you make for yourself, your baby and your family. During our antenatal meetings we will explore your unique wishes and needs for your pregnancy, labour and birth. I aim to provide you with evidence based, balanced information as you show interest to help you build your own picture of what choices are right for your family. During our time together our aim is for you as parents to find your inner trust and strength to take ownership of your labour and baby’s arrival, whilst making the most of the support and resources available to you. During labour I will support you and your birth partner with gentle reminders of care, be a reassuring presence and if supportive use techniques such as acupressure points, hip and body mobility techniques (Spinning Babies and OMP), meditation, aromatherapy, massage etc. Postnatally I am there to debrief your birth experience, support you emotionally, help with suggestions for baby where requested, settling, breastfeeding, elimination, mumma and baby comfort measures

Nourishing Postpartum Care with Closing Ceremony

Again this outline is simply to be seen as a guide to which variations can be discussed to ensure we construct a support package that meets you. 2 x 2hr Antenatal Visits 5 x 3hr Postnatal Visits (18 hours) 1 x 2hr Closing Ceremony ************************************************************************************************************ Antenatal Visits - Establishing a rapport ahead of your labour is very valuable for both your nervous system and my ability to cater to your needs when you are in your new mother role having had a chance to get to know you better and discuss how you will prepare for your postpartum. An option that has worked well in the past has been for me to have two home visits before baby is earthside. The number and time allocation is of course flexible. ************************************************************************************************************ Postnatal Visits - Postnatal Care can be very varied and will be indicated by your needs at the time of the visit. My support may be an ear to listen, providing emotional support in the form of debriefing and/or troubleshooting your birth, family-member behaviour, and any concerns and emotions that may arise. Providing non-medical comfort techniques to help you manage tension in both body and mind (e.g. massage, aromatherapy). Providing gently newborn care and parenting confidence via breastfeeding support, baby wearing/ carrying techniques, settling, infant massage techniques and infant pottying (Elimination Communication) are also well within scope. I also am happy to carry out light household duties to assist with labour recovery such washing dishes, laundry, cooking a meal or snack preparation. Having me look after your newborn or other family members for part of my visit may also feel supportive by helping you find the time to rest, wash, play with your existing children or enjoy a little bit of self-care. ************************************************************************************************************ - The Closing Ceremony offers an opportunity to honour your journey through pregnancy and into parenthood. It is a celebration of the rite of passage that is matrescence and the birth of both a mother and a baby. It’s an opportunity to acknowledge the transition and the gifts and teachings of pregnancy; labour and early motherhood, and helps to nurture you as a mother after having given birth to your beautiful babe as you journey through motherhood within the context of our modern living experience. It includes sacred circle, belly massage, body sifting, wrapping and meditation.
