Elle went above and beyond to support my husband and I prior, during and after the birth of our first child, she provided advice, gave massages, provided moral , practical emotional support, drove us to the hospital, provided pregnancy/birthing resources and helped me be clear on exactly what I wanted and what options I had available. Kellie was an invaluable resource to our family! We connected with Kellie early in my pregnancy while still in the US because we were moving to Australia before my baby would be born. She was incredibly helpful in navigating the medical system in Canberra. With her guidance, we were fortunate to get accepted into a medical facility that would be supportive of our wishes. Kellie was supportive and nurturing during my delivery, being very in tune to what I might need, but also when I might want to be left alone. The postpartum period was difficult for us as we had no family around. One thing that helped us tremendously were the meals that Kellie prepared for us. It was so nice to have healthy meals at the ready, especially to feed my toddler. From research and discussions I’ve had with other local mom’s, I’ve realized how unique it is that Kellie offers these meals. It was a very nice addition to the support she provided to our family!!!

Wedding planners and Birth planners…we have so much in common

Soon after I became pregnant I found myself fascinated (and slightly obsessed) about all things birth! I kept coming across the term “Doula” and after learning they were a birth planner I was sold. As a wedding planner, myself I understand the importance of having support in the lead up and on the day of the wedding. A “Doula” was my “Franck”providing invaluable birth information in the lead up and being by my side for the entire 15 hour labour. The service continued post birth with Cheryl sending me positive messages of support and a delicious veggie lasagne.

Cheryl was recommended to me by my Obstetrician and after meeting her I knew she was the one for me. My plan (like many) didn’t go to plan. I was induced five days after my due date due to medical issues. Cheryl literally held my hand throughout the whole birth and made the experience an extremely positive one. I began motherhood with a new found confidence which has continued to this day.

Initially my partner was not fussed in hiring a Doula. He didn’t see why we had to spend more money on a service he thought was provided by the hospital. However after experiencing me going through an intense labour he did eat his words and admitted “Cheryl was worth her weight in gold and in hindsight I would have paid double for her service”.

I am sad our journey with Cheryl is over however hopefully we will be able to do it all again! Everyone needs a “Cheryl” in their life and I am so grateful she was in ours. Danielle, John and baby Jules June 2017

I would like to say a big thank you to Kati Cooper for assisting us during the birth of our baby. Our baby boy arrived safely in December and Kati Fodor’s presence was essential in providing a safe and comfortable environment for us, the lovely touches, amazing essential oils, encouragement and understanding were key to make me feel empowered and encouraged during this very long and difficult labour (34 hours and 2 nights with no sleep). It didn’t go as planned but I still felt empowered in my decisions that I had to make according tothe circumstances, could not have done it without her support! Thank you Kati for being our doula.

Amazing Birth, Amazing Doula

When I first met with Kellie, I knew immediately she was going to be the doula for me. Her eyes spoke of a calm and gentle person, and I didn’t realise how true it was until she helped attend the birth of our daughter.
In the lead up to the birth Kellie provided amazing information/resources. She helped put together a birth plan which was highly valuable as it let my partner and I prepare and be able to make informed decisions if needed during labour & birth. Along the way she listened to me, she reassured me and supported me so that I could have trust in myself and my body.
She was attentive and encouraging with word and action throughout the entire labour. This was the biggest help for me, through the wonderful techniques to help ease contractions, to the beautiful essential oils & essences she would offer at different stages, to the powerful words of support. Kellie definitely holds a calm, loving and positive space for your birthing journey.
I cannot thank Kellie enough, she helped me welcome my baby girl with confidence and joy. I would highly highly recommend Kellie to any mumma who is looking for a beautiful support person.

I would like to thank Kati Cooper , for her care, encouragement and support throughout my pregnancy as a doula.
I was halfway through my pregnancy when Covid19 hit us with lockdown.
Kati was able to help me though this time with facetime and yoga and checking in on me, until we were able to meet up again.
All the breathing techniques she gave me were so on-point and helpful for me during my very quick labour.
This was my fourth baby, and my first with a doula. I wish i was able to have Kati for the first 3 also. She is an intuitive, caring, reliable person who is an amazing doula. Her knowledge of pregnancy yoga, therapeutic massage, essential oils and care and after care of this pregnant mumma was just amazing.

I highly recommend Kati as a doula, or if you need a pregnancy massage or pregnancy yoga for any expectant mummas!!

The statistics on the benefits of doulas really do speak for themselves. You cannot discount the value and comfort of having another woman with you that has so much wisdom and experience around birth. Someone else who knows you can do it. However, our birth story didn’t go as we had hoped and it wasn’t until this happened that we really appreciated having Cheryl with us. She was right when she said that ‘doulas are for all births.’ Whilst we had hoped for an uncomplicated vaginal birth with minimal medical intervention, the opposite happened. During my 39th week, I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and it progressed quite quickly. It was a disappointment and a shock, considering the fact that we’d had a textbook pregnancy up until that point. We booked an induction and suddenly had a very different birth to prepare for in a very short time. Cheryl came over to reassure us and inform us about the process of induction and what we could expect. She had an amazing ability to calm both myself and my husband and to preserve the parts of our plan that were truly important to us. On the day of our induction, I laboured for seven hours, with four contractions in 10 minutes. It was hard work, but a powerful experience that I’m proud to have attempted under those circumstances. When Cheryl spoke to my husband, she asked that my dilation check be delayed until she got there. When she arrived at 4am, it was so great to see her. She has such an aura of calm around her and incredible instincts. She was onto something because my dilation was only 2cm after 7 hours! Pretty devastating stuff, considering the power of my contractions. At this stage, we had to change tack. I was exhausted and my labour wasn’t progressing. I had an epidural and continued my labour for five more hours. Still 2cm after all that time! By this stage, we had to consider an emergency Caesarean, which is what we did. Yes, our birth was not what we had hoped, but that is okay. Cheryl prepared us well from the beginning and helped us to see what was important, which was being informed and doing all we could to have a positive birth. When our daughter, Georgie, was finally born, she was absolutely perfect and that was all that mattered in the end. Cheryl waited for us to come back from theatre, met our Georgie girl, and made sure she was feeding well. We had photos together and a debrief before she left our new family to bond. In the time that has followed, Cheryl has kept vigil with regular text messages, a home visit, a full debrief and freezer drop of the most delicious lasagna! She’s helped us to remember the importance of fourth trimester thinking, with good feeds and cuddles (and not too many visitors) for the first forty days. We’re so grateful for Cheryl’s love and wisdom and would wholeheartedly recommend her for any birthing experience you have in mind. FYI… I completed this review while breastfeeding.

Successful VBAC, thanks Trish!

I really wanted to hire a doula for the birth of my third child because I wanted to experience a natural birth. My first birth experience was premature twins born via c-section. It was a traumatic birth and certainly not what I had envisioned. It was really important to feel in control this time around and to do that I needed to be equipped with knowledge. Trish is certainly very knowledgeable in many types of births, having experienced them herself. From the first meeting, I could see that Trish was approachable and friendly but also a straight shooter. Exactly what I was after! The meetings prior to giving birth gave me the understanding of what was to come as well as the knowledge and confidence I needed to try for a VBAC. (Especially because VBACs come with many rules and restrictions). When it came to the actual birth, Trish was there to hold my hand, offer advice, give me support and take photos of the magical birth. But it didn’t stop there. Trish stayed with us for many hours after the birth to ensure I was properly cared for by the hospital staff. She was in close contact with me over my hospital stay to make sure I was doing well.
I also purchased the newborn package so Trish could visit us and help out once I was home with my three young children. It was great to have someone on hand to listen to my concerns, ease my worries and hold my baby so I could shower! She gave me some breastfeeding tips and pointed me in the right direction when we discovered my son had a tongue tie that needed correcting. Trish was always available for a chat and she was always genuinely warm and friendly.
I feel like the birth of my son was highly successful and healing. A big reason for this was Trish. I would recommend a doula to anyone who is wanting to have more control over the birth of their baby.

I was freaking out….

It was safe to say I was freaking out a little, maybe a lot, when I realised I was going to have a baby within a few months. Being an organised, needing everything in place kind of person didn’t help and moreover I didn’t have any close family to help me through my pregnancy journey.
I had researched doulas, what they do and I had an idea but was really unsure of going ahead and I also had my partner to convince. After having a few conversations with Cheryl and having a trial meeting with her, I knew it was definitely what I needed. It was comforting to me that not only was Cheryl a doula but also a midwife, knowing the hospital system, having current experience with different families and births and having a good relationship with the midwives at hospitals. She understood my need to have all knowledge available to me prior to the big day and she gave me invaluable support along the way, whether by message, email or phone call, knowing that I really needed another woman who standing by me that would advocate for me. As basic as that may sound sometimes that is all I needed.
I also felt having Cheryl there kept it real, I got a different view other than what I heard during antenatal appointments. She knew I was hell bent on having a natural birth with as little as intervention as possible and that is exactly what happened. She was such a calming, reassuring presence for me and my partner, it empowered us. I was honestly so pleased with how everything fell into place! Gayle

My favourite day of the week

My favourite day of the week is when Nanny Landy comes! Nanny Landy has helped me settle in to life with a newborn and toddler.

My day with Nanny Landy means I can have a day to take a back seat. Not only does she help to settle bub, but she cooks, she cleans, lets me sleep and entertains my toddler. Even on her days off she regularly checks in with me via text msg or drops by with a take away coffee. She is AMAZING!!!

Even as a second time Mum I have learnt so much from her knowledge and experience. My newborn is so rested and settled after her visits (I swear she is magic!). She is extremely caring and passionate about her work and provides great emotional support.

Hiring Natalie was the best decision we made for my pregnancy and birth! Living all alone away from our families during this strange times, it seemed apt to hire a doula for additional support. Furthermore, having someone who’s familiar with the health system here, seemed like a plus point. I instantly felt connected to Natalie’s unbiased and supportive nature. She made my husband and I feel safe, heard and supported throughout the entire pregnancy, birth and post-partum. Although I have an amazing husband, working with Natalie meant he could also feel emotionally supported, and have someone else to help him ‘tag team’ during the wild journey of my birth. We both agree that having a doula with you during pregnancy, birth and post-partum means you have that extra and essential layer of support, emotionally, physically and spiritually – not just for mum and baby, but for dad too!
During my pregnancy, I loved being able to reach out to Natalie for her expert guidance and wisdom when I needed it. We had incredible pre-birth sessions at our home with her, and the way she explained the birth process to us made it all seem more achievable and allowed us to create a strong sense of calmness and trust in the whole process. In the days leading to the birth, we had a few intense and emotional times at the hospital. We called Natalie and she instantly calmed us down and worked on a plan with us. Having her to call upon in those highly stressful times, was priceless as we both needed that support system where our families would come in handy.
On the day of our baby’s birth, Natalie was incredible. She remained calm, energised and present the whole time, without me feeling like I was interrupted in my contractions. I was very ‘in the zone’ for 13 long hours, but with Natalie and my husband there to support me through the intensity and transformation that took place, I always felt safe and in control. Having Natalie at the birthing suite felt like having family there. I will always be grateful for her presence, strength and support during my entire pregnancy, birth and the weeks following. I would highly recommend working with Natalie as your doula. Every birth is a unique, life changing experience and having support from people you trust is key. Natalie made our entire journey that much more bearable. And it shall be a story to be shared for a lifetime. We’re honoured to have you Natalie!

Julia completely transformed my experience

Julia completely transformed my experience of birth. She took me from being in a place of fear, disconnect and disempowerment… and guided me on a journey that resulted in me having a birth that was beautiful, informed, healing and, honestly, filled with magic.

As I sit here on

As I sit here on Mother’s Day eve with my newest daughter snuggled into my chest, I have so much to thank this incredible woman for. I’m tearing up just thinking about it!

I contacted Julia when I was 6 weeks pregnant as this was my last pregnancy and I really needed the support to make it as healing as possible after our last two traumatic births.

I also needed someone to be there for my husband so I could concentrate on myself knowing he was being supported in every way.

This birth ended up being extremely healing for me and I finally got what I’ve always wanted – to give birth in a room with no doctors around, surrounded by love and support and to reach down and pick my baby up and bring her to my chest. I had an induction however my wishes were to be left alone after rupturing membranes and having Julia there helped hold that space and ground. My body laboured and delivered completely on its own.

I thank Julia because she was there so profoundly in every way during our labour and was a knock out team with my husband, providing strong hands, massage, oils , a head to press mine against and some very calming words when the tough decisions needed to be made.

Julia is so strong, FULL of love, highly intuitive, sensual, extremely professional , familiar, and comforting. Julia knows pregnant and labouring women, and most importantly she believes in them!!
