Alice Worthy - The Modern Doula

Alice Worthy aka The Modern Doula is a birth and postpartum doula with a modern, no-fluff approach. You won’t find her charging crystals under the full moon or burning sage sticks (not that there’s anything wrong with that of course, it’s just not Alice’s style). Instead, Alice combines evidence-based knowledge with real-world experience to help women and their partners feel prepped, proud, and powerful through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

Having walked the path to motherhood herself, Alice saw firsthand the gaps in continuity of care, the way birth is often spoken about as something to fear, and the pressure to “bounce back” just weeks after giving birth. This sparked a deep passion to change the narrative — and The Modern Doula was born: bringing ancient practices of birth support into the modern world, with education, humour, and heart.

Alice trained with the Australian Doula College (2022), is a certified Optimal Maternal Positioning (OMP) Educator (2025), and is the creator of Birth Different — an online birth course that helps women understand how birth actually works — and Birth Different Bootcamp, her empowering in-person workshops for expecting couples.

Before becoming a doula, Alice worked in radio producing and retail leadership, developing teams and managing businesses — experience that now shines through in her calm communication, organisational skill, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

She lives on the NSW Central Coast with her husband, two children, and a spoodle named Betty, and has a soft spot for bubbles, board games, and a good cheese platter.
