My name is Alison, I am a birth and postpartum Doula, for Homebirths & Hospital Births covering most of North & North West Sydney. I work exclusively for you the pregnant family, I work with clients to develop specific birth options for each individual family.
I like teaching clients Optimal Maternal Positioning/Spinning Babies from about 20 weeks; this helps create alignment and mobility within a mother’s pelvis to ultimately facilitate cardinal movements of the baby, plus it feels good. Clients have continuity of care with me; I know them intimately and stay with them during the birth of their baby.

Postpartum is probably my favourite time, guiding clients in the transition to parenthood. A vital ingredient in recovery from pregnancy and birth is nourishment. I combine traditional methods from Ayurvedic & Chinese medicine to supercharge a mother’s healing , restore her energy and support breastfeeding. I help clients learn to swaddle their baby , show settling techniques, baby wearing, baby massage, incorporate healing herbs and Belly Binding, closing of the bones & mother blessings

If I had to sum my approach up in three words it would be gentle, nurturing, and holistic.

Postpartum Care

The Postpartum period is one of the most important times of your life. What baby needs most is mum, milk and sleep. What mum needs most is a whole lot of TLC. After a woman gives birth she is in a tender time of recovery. Pregnancy and labour have drawn every ounce of your body’s reserves. Your hormones are on a roller coaster. You are tired, depleted and vulnerable. Yet this is a period of incredible joy. I will make sure you have the support you need to enjoy this special time, as well as the nutrient dense meals that will help you recover your strength and energy. Birth Preparation and Delivery Support

$1,900.00

No matter how prepared you are for birth, it is always good to have someone in your corner, supporting both you and your partner, emotionally and physically. No matter what type of birth you want – whether it is a home or hospital birth, I will help ensure you are set up for a positive experience. During delivery I will support you every step of the way, from the time you need me in the early stages of labour until you are ready to bond as a family and feeding has been established. Alison is the most caring and supportive soul I could have chosen for my doula! As a single mother of choice giving birth in lockdown with all my family locked into the uk was my worst nightmare come true. However, Alison turned all this around and she really provided the support and confidence I needed to give birth whatever the scenario through at us. She tailored exactly to my personality and her support meant the birth was a super positive and inspiring one. She has a coaching style with such a calm and beautiful temperament. She immediately made me feel at ease in the 2 sessions prior to the birth and empowered me with the knowledge to make decisions that made sense for me.
